Non-veg swaps
- 2 boiled eggs or egg bhurji at breakfast
- Fish curry or grilled fish instead of paneer (fish also adds iodine and omega-3)
- Chicken curry or tandoori chicken instead of tofu or soya

- Protein at each meal for fullness and muscle
- Vegetables for fibre, including cooked cabbage and cauliflower (safe in normal cooked portions)
- Iodised salt used in normal cooking amounts
- Whole grains and millets in measured portions
Things to keep in mind
- Keep soy foods, high-fibre foods, milk and calcium-rich foods away from your tablet time.
- Keep your diet fairly steady day to day so your doctor can set the right dose.
- Do not take iodine, kelp or "thyroid support" supplements unless prescribed.

Can I drink milk with thyroid?
Yes, but not with your tablet. Keep a gap of a few hours as your doctor advises.

No. This chart is for hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). Hyperthyroidism needs specific medical and diet advice.
