Ingredients
Moong dal (yellow or split green gram) – 1 cup
Ginger – 1 inch piece
Green chilies – 1-2 (optional)
Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
Salt – to taste
Water – as needed
Chopped onion – 2 tbsp
Chopped tomato – 2 tbsp
Chopped coriander – 1 tbsp
Oil – for cooking (optional or minimal for roasting)
Instructions
Wash and soak the moong dal in water for 3–4 hours or overnight.
Drain the water and blend the dal with ginger, green chilies, cumin seeds, and salt using just enough water to make a smooth, pourable batter.
Transfer the batter to a bowl and mix in chopped onions, tomatoes, and coriander.
Heat a non-stick tawa or pan. Lightly grease with oil if needed.
Pour a ladleful of the batter and spread it evenly in a circular shape.
Cook on one side until golden brown, flip and cook the other side.
Once cooked and crisp, remove from the pan and serve hot.
